Panchakshar: The Courageous Story of Five Indians - 13

“Arre yar, did you here this? The answer books of UPPCS for the year 2005 have been lost. This news has been published on first page of today’s newspaper.” Madhusudan was quite embarrassed while speaking these words.
“What’s big deal? PCS for 2004 has already been cancelled. It is said that here was some mischief in scaling pattern of that exam.” Asgar expressed his views.
“It’s not that only this has happened. Secondary Education Selection Board has been dissolved. For last three years the selection of secondary and senior secondary teachers has not taken place at all. And the examinations which have taken place, their results are still awaited.” Sankat was also there with his piece of knowledge of the scenario.
“Arre yar, Doctor Sir, who used to leave in the lodge behind our lodge has started packing he said that the diminishing vacancies in the civil services and such scams have shaken his confidence in the system.Till 1999-2000 there used to be 1000 to 12000 vacancies and such people had got selected with whom we used to discuss and study together. And when our age reached the eligibility criteria then number of seats, partiality, scams, results everything has ruined up. We had given TGT & PGT four years back, whose result is still awaited. What does this mean? We are not in-eligible for selection, as result of all the exams are still awaited, at the same time all the participants are standing in the same queue with the same rank as none of them has got selected. I have not got much more patience and energy to continue studies. I am going, at village I will drive tractor, inspire my children for business but never put them in this fucking Civil Services preparation.” Param narrated to all others.
“If you take case of Ajit Bhaiya, after qualifying IAS mains for three times, he had been rejected in interview and at last he had to satisfy himself with the position of meagre auditor.” Ganpat told.
Just imagine! Parents send their children with the hope that after going to Allahabad their child will study hard and become a big officer, but they are unaware with the severity of unemployment. The students coming over here try their best. They diminish their wishes and luxuries of life and try to present best ever resources available in their pockets. They save us from all the miseries of our life thinking that our child will study hard and this is for some time and our child has good potential and is a hard worker. Some day the fate of family will be different. But that someday hardly comes. What an irony!
But do we leave any stone unturned? We try to do as little expense as possible. Daal bhat Chokha (DBC) is the staple food for us as it is least expensive in the terms of money as well as time. We also think the way our parents do that some day we will succeed passing through these miseries, hard work and dedication. We get bald and number in our eyes. But day by day success is pushed off and we are bare handed waiting our dream to be true. Life feels to be hollow like pain and desire of an impotent man to be father. But we are unable to share the same to the people and family members in the villages hoping us to complete our dreams and bring a smile on their faces and vice versa. They feel that if the miseries are shared it will be difficult to concentrate on the real aim. The passing time increases the space between both the parties and failure of a person turns into the failure of entire family bitterness of which is felt by each member of the family.
“Arre if you leave the success and failure aside and analyse the pattern of exams you will realise that there is a lot of difference in exams held earlier and now a days. Till 1988 there used to be only written exams, there used to be no prelims and interviews. Then prelims were attached with main exams which later on were followed by interviews too. From 2002 onwards the exams have converted to five staged exams as every exam is being dragged into High-Court and Supreme Court. First exams pass through all the stages and then candidates. After clearance from the entire stages only one can distribute sweets.” Asgar was revealing some harsh facts.
Sometimes the candidates prepare up to the age of 35-36 years and get nothing. The hope to achieve the target and resolve to never quit along with the respect for the sacrifices done by their parents for them persuades them to do so. What is left for the person to do who has spent 30 years in books and exams? He cannot touch cow-dung and dirt. He cannotreap the crops. He cannot do business as most of the resources have been spent and he knows nothing about business. And as a failure no one will ask for him. What should he do when his condition is like a street dog that doesn’t have a specified place for himself? What a tragedy and we hope that people with such pathetic mind would be able to run the country. Oh God, please save our country. Everything is in your hands.
Just think that you will put all such efforts to serve an illiterate MLA or MP and be a thread of his welcome carpet. He will try to teach you how to do public service, which had never been in public. To be forced to be part of exploitation and corruption or to be thrown away in some remote place trying to prove that you were not part of any such goof up so that you do not prove to be a stone in the plate of these politicians. What is benefit of such a job? Now there is no charm for such positions. There was time when DM of Allahabad had not allowed helicopter of Indira Gandhi to land in the city for 24 hours, and she was PM at that time. But now everybody wants to follow people like Akhand Pratap Singh so that they can keep their pockets warm and heavy and those who go otherwise have to face the situation like Krishna Bhaiya and people like Anand Mohan go smiling after hearing death sentence in the courts being confident that next government will be theirs. And their Government means their decision.
What had happened with ASP of Varansi Mr. Shailendra Pratap Singh? After finding AK47 with Atik Ahmad, he asked for permission of arresting him by the SP and when denied resigned. After not getting any ticket from the parties he fought on his own in the elections and had to return to pavilion with mourning face. Bhai politics is not for righteous people. Our public is not blind, deaf and speechless but acts otherwise. When it sees some one simple it thinks that how the person will be able to stand in the world of corrupts and goons and just with the responsibilities. Surviving even for a few days will not be possible for him so let’s pardon him for his life. And thus again there is atrap on democracy of India. Public thinks that if some good people are left alive their strength will increase, but my dear friends if you go on supporting burglars and corrupt like this their abuse of power is certainly going to diminish the whole structure and society and moral of good people as one spoiled mango spoils the whole basket where as a good mango is not able to do otherwise.
